Enemy Territory: Quake Wars has been patched to 1.2! Below are some highlights of the release: - Added voice over IP (VoIP). A new menu has been added to the settings menu that will allow this to be configured. The PC must have a microphone configured properly via the Windows Control Panel in order for it to work in game.
- Comprehensive bot improvements
- Threaded renderer: enable via r_useThreadedRenderer 2, when from console in main menu, can not enable in game.
The patch is available from this site, here . You can also grab the torrent from this site, here .
Update: The dedicated server torrent is now available here . The dedicated server itself will be posted shortly. |

I have been tooling around with the Enemy Territory configuration and I think I screwed it up pretty good. I am learning more about how the engine works, and may end up moving to ETPUB from the stock config. Seems that the newer version of the Omni-Bot code has some issues when run in a dedicated setup. I'm still not quite sure how it all works, but I am looking into it. I am also looking into how much resources it would take to leave the game running full time. Currently, only the Infiltration 2.9 server runs full time. |

More information on my as-yet-to-come review on the Battlefield 2 modification called "Project Reality". I am in the process of setting up a dedicated server for BF2:PR to do some further testing of the game. While some older systems could handle BF2 alone quite well, even my relatively newly-built PC has shown some signs of sluggishness when running a full setup of BF2:PR. I am getting close to coming to a conclusion, and should have a good solid feel for the game by the weekend. |

For some reason the Omni-Bot 0.6 release slipped past me. When news came out for a 0.61 patch to address an issue that would affect most linux-based installations, I checked again and noticed that I am, in fact, still running the 0.531 release. I plan on resolving this and also adding a few additional maps to the map rotation sometime over the weekend, hopefully this evening. |

Cursory research has found conflicting reports of whether the upcoming release of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will have AI players. Most recent reports cite an interview by PCGamer with John Dean, author of FritzBot for RTCW. Many older reports state that there are "no plans for AI players". Updates as they are available. |
