Just noticed that on Oct 2nd, Sentry Studios, creators of the amazing UT Total Conversion titled "Infiltration", have decided to stop developing for the Source engine. This was mainly due to lack of resources to continue developing. |

I took a few minutes to compile a list of all of the new weapons that
have been hyped on the TC:Elite website since the last release, though
I may have left some out.
New pistols:
Colt 1911
FN FiveseveN
HK MK23
New Rifles/SMGs/LMGs:
FAMAS
FN FAL
FN "minimi" (M249)
FN P90
HK G3a
HK G36c
OC-14 Groza
Sig SG551
Steyr AUG 9mm
Commentary:
Now would be an excellent time for the TC:E team to consider
switching to a loadout-based system instead of a "choose from these
pre-built loadouts", a.k.a. "class-based" system. Infiltration is a
good example of a loadout-based system in a FPS. On the other hand, if
TC:E is not supposed to be a roleplay-type shooter, a loadout system
may be detrimental.

Over the past few weeks, there have been some minor updates to the True
Combat: Elite website. The most substantial content is/are the
screenshots. You can check those out at the TC:E Website.

Today is the official activation date of my new DSL install at my new
apartment. In a rare twist of events, the DSL itself was live
yesterday. The website is now running from this DSL connection, and
I've already noticed the improvement in page loads, etc.
You may be inclined to think that the acquisition of broadband might
change my errant, lone-gamer ways, but that is highly unlikely. Last
night I was up until 1 AM playing Natural Selection -- Offline -- with
my roommate, and 5 instances of the WhichBot.

I just received word via the Omni-Bot homepage of a new release of
Omni-Bot. This release is supposed to includes much-heralded and long
missing AI functionality, including a mission scripiting engine, and
covert-ops recognition (or lack thereof). I will post again with my
comments. 17% of 1 file....
