Just recently learned of a new AI project, currently available for Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. The project is called "Omni-Bot"
and from first glimpse it looks reasonably good. Check it out, in the
meantime, I'll be evaluating it for a more in-depth review.

Yesterday was my small group's planned trip to Airsoft CQB,
an indoor Airsoft playing field in Manassas, VA. We take a ride out
there every other saturday and blast away at each other for several
hours. This trip was no exception, but it was exceptional. I bought
myself a TM MP5A4 which was a former rental gun. Since I had a friend
who doesn't own yet, I let him use it for the duration of the trip. I'd
say the highlight of our trip was the Aliens vs. Marines game, where
the Marines actually won! That was awesome.

I decided to see what kind of news articles I could find on "airsoft",
so I did a search from Yahoo! and Google news sites on the term
"airsoft". The results, while not surprising, were not encouraging. The
vast majority of articles which had airsoft as a main topic, were
discussing either some panicked cop or school official confiscating an
airsoft gun from someone, or about some town council wanting to ban
airsoft guns (or having already done so) because of such stupidity
among posessors of airsoft models.

Last night, for the first time in many months, I fired up good ol'
Infiltration for UT. Infiltration is arguably the best ever freely
available mil-sim in existence. The Ironsight system is great, the
graphics were great for their time, and still decent now. There are
plenty of maps, and plenty of community-created mutators and other
content.

Although I missed the news that ET ("Wolfenstein: Enemy Terrtory") had been ported to the Mac, it
didn't make me any less excited that it was out. I was anxious to see
how the game would run, because I saw forum posts on the
fileplanet/gamespy message boards that the game would either run
terribly slow, or not at all.
